As a South Asian woman and a first-generation child of immigrants whose parents immigrated from India, I navigated my own mental health challenges as a young adult. At the time, reaching out for support felt nearly impossible; the deep-seated stigma around mental health only made the weight feel heavier.

When I finally took the leap to start my own healing journey, it was life-changing. But it also revealed a painful gap in the system: as I searched for a counselor, I found almost no Queer South Asian therapists who understood the specific nuances of my world. That search is what moved me to pursue this career. I fell in love with this work and the people it led me to, and I am honored to now be the representation I once needed.

I believe that our community deserves care that is both deeply empathetic and highly informed. I earned my Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from St. Mary’s University and am a National Certified Counselor (NCC). Being a National Certified Counselor means I have voluntarily met high national standards for the practice of counseling. I am currently an LPC-Associate pursuing my Doctorate in Counselor Education and Supervision. My academic work allows me to bring cutting-edge clinical research directly into our sessions, ensuring that "best practices" are always culturally responsive and evolving alongside the needs of our community.

My Approach

I specialize in working with folks who appear "high-functioning" on the outside but feel overwhelmed or disconnected beneath the surface. My approach is relational and trauma-informed, integrating the body and mind through creative and expressive techniques to process experiences that go beyond words.

Because of my own background, I am especially attuned to the "immigrant 1st born" experience, the tension of honoring your parents and your heritage while fighting to honor your own identity. Therapy with me isn’t about fitting into a mold shaped by an inner critic or cultural expectations; it’s about creating space for your emotional truth and building a steadier, more connected way of being.
